A Single Drop

Stevee Beautifully sustained ambient opening, which makes the point where the drums kick in all the more dramatic and effective. Add a dash of spoken Japanese from Toyo, a soaring soundscape and a coda culminating in water, and you find an awful lot in a single drop.

about

This song is about hope, fear, consequences, uncertainty and humanity…and my learning addiction.
A singular small change can cause dramatic effects later on. Call it butterfly effect, chaos theory, or deterministic chaos, you can make a long mathematical and philosophical essay about it. But in the end it’s just the undeniable cause and effect relationship. Whether you can determine the exact cause or the exact effect it’s a whole new thing. But you can recognize it in nature profusely just by being aware.

The concept of this track was made possible with the help of Toyo, a talented Japanese musician who I came across with a common project a few years ago, to help me include a sentence in Japanese in my song. Please check out his work here: toyo.bandcamp.com/releases
